Feeder Steer receiving and weighing Gates Open. All school children will be admitted free until 6 PM. Ride tickets will be sold at a reduced price until 6 PM at the Fair Office front window and Midway ticket booths. 4-H, FCCLA, and FFA Livestock Judging Contest (Cattle Show Arena) Feeder Steer Show "Miss Cullman County Fair" Pageant will be held in the Fair Theatre. Princess representatives of the nine high schools in Cullman County will compete on an equal basis for a $1,500 Scholarship Award (to be paid to the school in which she enrolls) given by the Fair Association. The winner will also receive a hand-finished, natural-color portrait awarded by "Photography by Theresa Burns" of Cullman, and a diamond pendant from Doug Doggett Jewelers of Cullman. The first runner-up will receive a $1,000 scholarship given by the Fair Association. In the event the winner is unable to fulfil any of her duties, the first runner-up will serve in lieu of the queen. Second runner-up will receive a $500 scholarship given by Cullman Lions Club. Wallace State College will give a one year scholarship in the field of performing arts to the winner of the Talent portion of the contest. Cullman Lioness Club will award $200 toward a scholarship for Miss Congeniality. Doug Doggett will emcee the pageant. |
